I cannot live without chocolate. There are moments that you just cannot resist and the damage is done but it doesn't have to be like that.

We created a chocolate treats that yes, will have some calories, but less and on the top of it we added some delicious super foods for amazing taste and texture.

We used 70% Cocoa Dark chocolate (fair trade, organic) and mixed them with sour cherries, amaranth popping and pistachio nuts.

Yes, it is that simple. Four ingredients and in minutes you have yummy and nutritional, perfect party snack.

So why are they healthy?

Cocoa – demonstrates significant benefits for the cardiovascular system, reduce the high blood pressure and even reduce the risk of cancer.

Sour cherries -  rich in the antioxidant known as anthocyanins, high in vitamin C, particularly protective against breast, lung, liver, skin and colon cancers.

Amaranth popping – gluten free, contains all the essential amino acids, protein  content is about 13 percent, or 26 grams per cup, which is much higher than for most other grains. It’s A Source Of Key Vitamins And Minerals.

Pistachio nuts - reduce LDL ("bad") cholesterol and increase the good HDL cholesterol, high in antioxidants such as vitamins A and E, they fight inflammation, protecting blood vessels and reducing risk of heart disease, incredibly rich source of vitamin B6.

It feels better, does it not? Delicious, sweet, mouth-watering, but full of goodness.

100g good quality 70%-80% dark chocolate

1/2 cup amaranth popping

1/2 cup freeze dried cherries (some chopped, some whole)

30 grams pistachio nuts (some crushed, some whole)

Break the chocolate into small pieces and add to a heatproof bowl. Add a little boiling water to a saucepan and heat until simmering. Suspend the bowl over the simmering water but do not allow the base of the bowl to touch the water. Heat the chocolate, stirring regularly until almost completely melted, then remove from the heat. Add amaranth popping, earlier chopped sour cherries and nuts. Stir together. Spray lightly the rectangular baking tray with oil. Spread ready mixture on the tray. The thinner the mixture is spread, the better and crunchier the final bars are, so take your time when spreading it. Finally sprinkle bigger pieces of nuts and sour cherry on the top for decoration. Put in to the fridge for minimum 2 hours to cool down. When ready break them gently into desired shapes.
